What is Wreaths Across America Radio?  

Along with the informational and inspiring content Wreaths Across America Radio plays a variety of music with the roots firmly planted in patriotism with a country music thread running through the core of the stream. Wreaths Across America Radio has a live morning show every weekday morning from 6 am to 10 am eastern, along with a variety of special programs that support the mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach.

Chuck Igo
MONDAY 12pm to 6pm et

Massachusetts-born and educated with a goal of radio broadcasting, Chuck entered the Navy in 1977, graduating from RTC Great Lakes and headed off to the USS Cone (DD-866), homeported in Charleston SC.  In 1978, the next stop was Radioman “A” School in San Diego ahead of being assigned to the Communications Center at Naval Air Station Brunswick, Maine, rising to RM2 and managing to juggle local-area part-time on-air radio station shifts prior to an honorable discharge in 1981.  Upon the end of active duty, it was full-time radio broadcast employment for the next 40 years at radio stations in Maine, primarily Portland, as well as both full and part-time employment at stations in Boston, Massachusetts.  Chuck was inducted to the Maine Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2017, receiving many awards for his work along the way before retiring from full-time broadcasting in 2020, but continues to be an active member of the board of directors of the Durham Warriors Project – benefitting both active-duty & veteran service members, plus the South Portland Historical Society.  Chuck has been married to “Saint” Debbie for 39 years where they’ve made their home in South Portland, Maine, raised three children and enjoy time with their grandchildren. 

Tony sequeria

Tony left for Marine Corps boot camp in the summer of 1996 and served seven years. Sergeant Sequeira spent his service time learning about and training Marines on signals intelligence and electronic warfare at 1st Radio Battalion, in addition to being a marksmanship instructor.  While stationed in Hawaii he spent time in Okinawa and Guam, and had several training trips in the Arizona and California deserts for new systems testing.

Mike Spotswood is the host for Cup of Joe Radio. Mike was a member of the of USMC from 1964-1968, serving in Vietnam for 21 months and completing over 30 combat jumps. Mike worked in the commercial television field for twenty years before his DOD Department of Defense career. He retired from the Army War College in Carlisle Pa. After retirement, Mike began volunteering his time and skills to help organizations serving the veteran community. Mike, along with other former AFN Armed forces broadcasters, have produced a radio show to support the veteran community. The show is Cup of Joe Radio.

Doug Bradley

Doug Bradley is a frequent guest on Cup of Joe and has written extensively about his Vietnam, and post-Vietnam, experiences. His latest book, Who’ll Stop the Rain: Respect, Remembrance, and Reconciliation in Post-Vietnam America, has been described by noted historian H. Bruce Franklin as “a brave and invaluable attempt to bring us back together…a potent medicine for a sick nation.”

After graduation from college, Doug was drafted into the U. S. Army in March 1970. He served as a combat correspondent for the U. S. Army Republic of Vietnam headquarters at Long Binh, South Vietnam, from November 1970-November 1971. He relocated to Madison, Wisconsin, in 1974 where he helped establish Vets House, a storefront, community-based service center for Vietnam era veterans.

Doug is the author of DEROS Vietnam: Dispatches from the Air-Conditioned Jungle and co-author, with Craig Werner, of We Gotta Get Out of This Place: The Soundtrack of the Vietnam War which was named best music book of 2015 by Rolling Stone magazine. Who’ll Stop the Rain was released by Warriors Publishing Group in December 2019.

Katherine norwood

Katherine “Kat” Norwood is going into her senior year at Norwich University, the oldest private military college in the country, where she studies communications and broadcasting as a civilian student in Northfield, Vermont. She has worked as a host for her on-campus radio station, WNUB, as well as interned for Great Eastern Radio back in 2018.

Katherine has very close ties to the military since her father was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and her grandfather served in World War II as a Sgt. in the Army Air Corps. She also has many other family members and close friends who have or are serving in every branch of the military. She appreciates the opportunity to volunteer for Wreaths Across America as a way to thank all of the veterans who have served.
