About the Monument

Designed to both educate the public and honor Gold Star Families, the Woody Williams Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments are in almost all 50 states. This will be the first in Maine. The Maine monument was designed by a committee of Gold Star Families and volunteers. While each monument includes the same four panels exemplifying Homeland, Family, Patriot and Sacrifice, the committee chose images that reflect Maine and the Wreaths Across America mission.
